Philmont in a nut shell

This sign was up one of the canyons near Philmont. I thought it was hilarious that there was a falling cow.
This was my favorite pony, Stripe. He is about 30 years old and the most patient thing you'll ever meet.
This is a cool rattlesnake we saw on one of the trails with our group of kids. It was just being lazy on the trail and as we went around it, the thing made its way up the other side.
This is the Tooth of Time. The major mountain of the area. It is the one that is on all of the paraphernalia.
This is a bathroom in the Villa Philmonte. It was the home of the man who gave the land to the Boy Scouts, Waite Phillips. The handles are plated with gold.

This is one of the skits we did for the Group Leaders the first week when we went to the Stockade for an overnighter. It is called If I weren't a Boy Scout.
This is Aurora doing another skit. She was told to be a train conductor and we were told it was a toilet. It was pretty funny to watch.
This is me sniffing a Ponderosa Pine. For those who have never had a chance to smell one it smells like butterscotch or to some vanilla.

Well I got the pictures. Here they are for you to enjoy. This is a place called Lover's Leap. So named for Captain Herman and an Indian maiden who fell in love and jumped off the cliff to stop their families from fighting. Kind of a Romeo and Juliet for the New World. It is a pretty sweet area though. The two other girls are Marie (the blonde) and Teresa (the bug eyed one). Together we were the three crazies.

What? I have a blog?

So it's been a really long while since the last blog posting. Here is an overview of my life since then. I started classes again and finished all of them. Then I moved to New Mexico for the summer to work at the best place ever. It is called Philmont Scout Ranch. I was paid to play with kids all summer while gaining experience for when I get my own classroom. I met a million new people, saw two bears (thankfully far away), and found my favorite summer job. Pictures will be forth coming. Hold onto your hats cuz it could take me a bit.
